Institute of Mathematics

About Us

Welcome to the webpage of Institute of Mathematics, a research and teaching unitand, a part of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce.

Mathematics at our university has been taught since 1969. The Institute of Mathematics was set up in 1976 and it has been playing an active role in scientific research and teaching practices to this day. We have organized several conferences on mathematics and also participated in many scientific and educational grants and projects.

Today the Institute of Mathematics at Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce employs 18 university teachers and offers the following undergraduate and graduate programs of study mathematics – specializations:

  • teaching of mathematics
  • applied mathematics

We are located on the new Campus of Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce. Our students are provided with optimal conditions to study: well-equipped lecture rooms and computer laboratories with access to the Internet, numerous data bases, online journals and utility programs, small laboratory groups, etc. The building provides access for the disabled.

A research group containing more than twenty members specializing in various branches of abstract and applied mathematics is actively taking part in selected projects. Our Institute organizes a weakly workshop which includes the following topics: Topology, Set Theory.
